Job summary

The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) seeks a senior policy strategist to lead the Economic Research & Policy Department's research initiatives. You will guide question framing, analysis, and communication of findings to City leadership and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities span cross‑agency collaboration, policy development, and strategic briefing materials that translate data into actionable insights for NYC’s economy and communities.

Qualifications

• Lead high-impact research and policy projects from framing research questions to communication of findings.
• Translate economic evidence into clear, actionable policy insights for leadership.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to inform policy development.
• Demonstrate ability to manage complex research with rigorous methodology.
• Proven track record of presenting complex findings to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set the direction for NYCEDC’s policy research agenda with the Chief Economist.
• Lead high-impact research and policy analysis on issues affecting NYC’s economy and communities.
• Oversee cross-functional research initiatives and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Build partnerships across NYCEDC and City agencies to align research efforts.
• Represent NYCEDC’s policy research externally through briefs, presentations, and publications.
