New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Advanced Data Analytics to lead econometric modeling and policy analysis in ERP. The role focuses on building reproducible analytical tools and evaluating how policies affect households, labor markets, and city revenues.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Public Policy, applied math, or related field.
• 5+ years of applied economic research, econometric analysis, or data science.
• Advanced proficiency in R; familiarity with Python considered.
• Experience with causal inference and quasi-experimental methods.
• Experience building microsimulation, forecasting, and policy-simulation models.
• Ability to work with large, complex datasets and official data sources.
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Experience leading complex projects and collaborating with diverse teams.
• New York City residency required within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain econometric, microsimulation, forecasting, and scenario-analysis models.
• Design empirical analyses using causal inference and quasi-experimental methods.
• Build models for labor-market effects, price pass-through, and household/firm behavior.
• Evaluate model assumptions, perform robustness checks, and communicate uncertainty.
• Use R to create reproducible analytic workflows and manage large datasets.
• Lead technically complex research projects from scoping to delivery.
• Collaborate with economists and policy researchers to frame questions and deliver evidence.
• Translate findings into policy-relevant reports, briefs, and data visualizations.
• Train and mentor ERP staff and contribute to research strategy.
