Job summary

Citi in London seeks an AI-first Lead Applied AI Engineer to define and deliver enterprise-scale AI for Investment, Corporate and Commercial Banking. You will shape technical delivery, lead hands-on initiatives, and partner with technology and business teams to drive AI adoption.

You will oversee architecture of agent-based systems, integrate OpenAI, Anthropic and Google platforms, steer MVP programs, and mentor engineers to build an AI-first culture aligned with banking risk and governance.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and Java with web tech familiarity.
• Hands-on AI/ML expertise with LLMs, RAG and agent frameworks.
• Experience building scalable APIs for AI services.
• Strong architecture and engineering discipline for AI platforms.
• Banking domain knowledge and governance awareness.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End AI leadership: design, implement, deploy agentic AI solutions.
• Architect agent-based systems integrating multiple LLM providers.
• Full-stack AI engineering using modern ML/LLM tools.
• Rapid MVP-driven delivery with experimentation and A/B testing.
• Define evaluation metrics for AI performance and risk alignment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to teams.
