Job summary

BlueHub Capital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Vice President (SVP) of Education Lending to deliver all aspects of BlueHub Loan Fund’s real estate focused lending, with a primary focus on non-profit operators of K-12 public charter schools. The SVP will manage lending services nationwide and report to the Loan Fund President.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Finance or Real Estate is preferable.
• 8+ years of experience in real estate finance, preferably in charter school facilities.
• Experience with NMTC leverage loans is helpful.
• Experience operating, underwriting or monitoring operations of public charter schools is valuable to this role.

Responsibilities

• Expand BlueHub’s network of relationships with school operators, charter management organizations, community leaders, and other lending partners.
• Identifying potential real estate lending opportunities and screening those opportunities for feasibility, impact and credit strength.
• Underwriting loan transactions primarily for school facilities.
• Structuring predevelopment, acquisition, construction, bridge, term and leverage loans.
• Preparing approval memoranda and presenting credit recommendations to the BlueHub Loan Committee.
• Closing complex loan transactions and negotiating with borrowers, other lenders and public agencies.
• Managing an active portfolio of relationships in partnership with the Portfolio Management team.
• Provide technical assistance to borrowers with varied levels of sophistication to strengthen projects.
