Job summary

Ameritas, a leading insurer and financial services provider in Lincoln, NE, seeks an executive technology leader to plan and direct the organization’s technology functions for the Individual Division. You will drive API-first, cloud-native development and AI automation across the software lifecycle, partnering with stakeholders and vendors.

The role is hybrid, working in Lincoln, NE and from home, with relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7-10 years of related information technology experience.
• 4-7 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with insurance industry I.T. leadership strongly desired.
• Experience with insurance industry distribution channels, agency partnerships, and associated agent facing technology strongly desired.
• Experience with API first and cloud native development desired.
• Experience with AI automation desired.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction and drive execution for the technology platforms advancing ease of doing business and accelerating growth.
• Build and cultivate stakeholder relationships to promote business growth with technology.
• Drive and deliver on technology strategy with accountability to company leadership.
• Monitor industry trends in InsurTech to inform enterprise application development strategy.
• Operate as an enterprise-level partner, aligning cross-division initiatives and driving shared outcomes.
• Plan and organize the work of associates and management in the function area.
• Collaborate with leaders to identify technology needs and ensure smooth system integration.
• Implement strategic cost management to optimize technology investments and personnel resources.
• Define objectives and key results to monitor progress of initiatives and daily work.
• Promote innovation and encourage adoption of new technologies to improve agent/producer/customer experience.
• Manage and negotiate vendor contracts and external vendor relationships.
