BNY Mellon is seeking a Senior Vice President, Data Governance Lead in New York, NY to strengthen data governance across the enterprise. You will lead data quality, metadata management, and risk oversight while partnering with business and technology teams to ensure data is trusted and well-documented for analytics, AI, and business use cases.

The role requires 7-10+ years in data governance, strong leadership, and a track record of implementing governance in complex environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics/statistics or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• 7-10+ years of experience in data management, data governance, data quality, metadata management, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams or enterprise-wide governance programs.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality, metadata, lineage, and data ownership concepts.
• Experience implementing governance programs in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead enterprise data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data risk management activities.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to implement data governance strategies, standards, and best practices.
• Improve the consistency, transparency, and accountability of data management across the enterprise.
• Oversee the identification, onboarding, and maintenance of trusted data sources for critical business use cases.
• Ensure key datasets are documented with clear ownership, business definitions, lineage, and quality controls.
• Drive improvements in data quality controls, measurement, issue remediation, and reporting.
• Identify, assess, escal... and help mitigate data-related risks and governance issues.
• Provide visibility into governance progress, data quality performance, and key risk themes.
• Lead stakeholder engagement, governance forums, and cross-functional communications.
• Support the use of trusted, well-governed data for analytics, automation, and AI initiatives.
