BNY Mellon is seeking a Vice President, Data Management Engineer in New York, NY. The role focuses on data ownership partnerships, modeling, and governance to deliver high-performance data solutions across environments.

The successful candidate will design data models, ensure data quality, and lead data stewardship while leveraging Snowflake, Spark, and AI/ML techniques to solve complex data challenges.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
• 6-10 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
• Strong understanding of big data technology stack such as Snowflake.
• Python expert, SQL with Data Engineering capabilities.
• Proven experience with RDBMS like Oracle.
• Proven experience implementing AI/ML based data solutions to solve complex data management problems.
• Ability to demonstrate work on real world projects with AI, ETL tools like Apache Airflow, RESTful API design and development, Power BI, GitLab CI/CD, and Jira.
• Design and develop scalable data processing workflows using Pyspark and Python.
• Write complex and performance optimized SQL queries.
• Perform data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL).
• Troubleshoot and optimize Spark jobs for performance and stability.
• Work with large datasets and ensure data quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for requirements understanding and delivery.
• Follow coding standards, best practices, and documentation.

Aufgaben

• Establish partnerships with source system data owners and reporting teams to document data requirements and understand data scope and definitions.
• Develop conceptual, logical and first-cut physical data models; create data model documentation with entity/attribute definitions.
• Assist in logical data designs to deliver stable, high-performance data solutions and reconcile data discrepancies.
• Maintain data dictionaries across multiple environments (mainframe, distributed systems).
• Plan and conduct moderate data warehouse tests; liaise with data owners for data stewardship.
• Analyze and design data models, logical databases and relational definitions using forward/backward engineering.
• Promote data sharing and reduce redundant data processes by identifying common structures.
• Ensure adherence to data quality standards and identify root causes of data quality issues.
• Demonstrate ability to work on real-world projects with AI/ML data solutions and ETL tooling.
