Job summary

Synchrony seeks an SVP of Cloud & Infrastructure Platforms to define strategy and lead modernization of private and public cloud capabilities. You will build a high-performing engineering organization, partner with CIO, Security, Architecture, and Product leaders, and drive governance and cost optimization across cloud providers.

The role emphasizes automation, IaC, platform standardization, and executive-level communication to advance Synchrony’s cloud-first strategy and business growth.

Qualifications

• Proven strategic IT leadership with executive-level influence.
• Experience leading large, mission-critical technology platforms.
• Strong knowledge of cloud, automation, observability, networking, and databases.
• Ability to navigate complexity, align stakeholders, and drive consensus.
• Experience presenting technology strategy and risk to regulators.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise strategy, architecture, and operating models for cloud and platform services.
• Build and lead a high-performing engineering organization grounded in accountability and continuous improvement.
• Align platform investments with enterprise objectives across IT and business units.
• Lead modernization initiatives to improve agility, security, and cost efficiency.
• Establish and enforce standards for automation, IaC, observability, and disaster recovery.
• Manage governance, regulatory compliance, and risk posture reporting to executives and regulators.
• Develop FinOps practices and optimize technology budgets and vendor relationships.
