Job summary

Synchrony is seeking a Senior Vice President, Cloud & Infrastructure Platforms to define and execute strategy for private and public cloud platforms, networking, databases, and VDI. This executive will build a high‑performing engineering organization focused on secure, scalable, reliable, and cost‑efficient platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline with 10 years of IT leadership experience.
• Strategic IT partner to senior leadership; leads large, mission-critical technology platforms.
• Experience building and operating complex, business-critical technology platforms.
• Strong knowledge of cloud, automation, observability, networking, database platforms, and operations.
• Navigate complexity, establish direction, influence stakeholders; resolve conflicts.
• Deep domain expertise in cloud, networking, and data technologies to support growth.
• Significant experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience presenting technology strategy and risk posture to regulators (Fed Reserve Board, OCC).

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise strategy, architecture, roadmap, and operating model for cloud and platform services.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing technology engineering organization grounded in accountability and innovation.
• Partner with leaders across Technology, Security, Risk, Compliance, Architecture, Product, and Business.
• Lead cloud modernization initiatives to improve agility, resilience, security, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Deliver secure and scalable cloud, network, database, hybrid-connectivity, and VDI capabilities.
• Provide streamlined cloud onboarding, governance, and lifecycle management across cloud providers.
• Establish standards for automation, observability, IaC, continuous delivery, and platform reliability.
