Job summary

AmeriCorps Seniors Coordinator with Axess Family Services recruits, trains, and places Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion volunteers. Oversees FGP and SCP in Summit and Stark counties, traveling regularly within the state.

This full-time role at 40 hours per week involves coordinating volunteer activities, verifying stipends, maintaining program files, and promoting the AmeriCorps Seniors mission through outreach and recognition events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with Seniors, volunteering and/or social services preferred; proficient with technology, data entry and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion operations in assigned counties.
• Recruit, enroll and train volunteers and conduct monthly in-services.
• Verify stipends and manage related paperwork.
• Provide volunteer recognition and coordinate annual events.
• Maintain volunteer stations and program files; ensure grant compliance.
• Support Advisory Council activities and promote National Days of Service.
• Enter data and prepare reports for state/federal grants;
• Manage local program budget and petty cash; process check requests.
• Assist with fundraising/ funding paperwork as needed and ensure safety.
• Travel regularly within assigned counties and to other state locations.
