Job summary

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking a Voluntary Cleanup and General Remediation Program Manager- Analyst 4 for the State Office in Boise. The role leads the VCP and General Remediation programs, directing policy development and program performance measures.

The position requires advanced regulatory knowledge, strong management skills, and the ability to coordinate with regional offices, provide technical assistance, and manage budgets for statewide cleanup activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physical or biological sciences, Political Science, Business or Public Administration, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
• At least six years of professional experience in management, technical assistance, resource allocation, and policy interpretation to staff, stakeholders, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) and General Remediation Program statewide.
• Review and approve VCP applications, agreements, work plans, and reports.
• Develop guidance and policies to ensure statewide consistency and coordination.
• Coordinate with regional offices on site tracking and records management.
• Provide technical assistance and regulatory interpretations to facilities, local governments, and the public.
• Manage program budgets and communications for site assessment and remediation efforts.
• Act as Quality Assurance Officer for Brownfields projects and engage in public outreach.
