Job summary

Peraton seeks a Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to provide VMware, Linux, and Windows support for an enterprise IT services and engineering program under a DHS contract. The candidate will design and implement solutions for complex system problems, perform health checks, patching, backups, and integration tasks.

Some on-site work is required in Washington, DC, with telework and occasional data center duties in Ashburn, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience or 9 years with a high school diploma.
• Extensive VMware knowledge including ESXi, vCenter, Horizon, and related tools.
• Experience with Microsoft AD, GPO, MECM, O365, and Azure.
• Strong design, architecture, and solution development capabilities.
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting; experience in a hybrid/cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily health checks and health monitoring across VMware, Linux, and Windows environments.
• Provide engineering support for performance, patching, backup, and DR activities.
• Collaborate with Government representatives on issues affecting the operating environment.
• Develop and implement solutions for complex system problems and network concerns.
• Assist in decommissioning obsolete virtual servers and advising on cloud migration strategies.
