Job summary

CDW is seeking a Principal Consulting Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize private cloud infrastructure built on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.0. This role serves as the technical authority for our software-defined data center strategy, driving standardization and automation across compute, storage, and networking management layers.

You will collaborate with the technical architect, define standards and runbooks, and mentor delivery teams while engaging with client executives.

Qualifications

• The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and have 10+ years in IT Infrastructure with 3+ years in large enterprise consulting.
• At least 7+ years in enterprise virtualization/private cloud architecture.
• Hands-on experience with VCF 9.0 and automation deployments.
• Strong ability to design architectures, create ADRs, and mentor delivery teams.
• Excellent communication skills and client relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Size, design, and deploy VCF Ops deployments.
• Define and enforce cloud operating model standards including RBAC, tagging taxonomy, and capacity management.
• Develop VCF Ops components such as dashboards, groups, alerts, costing models, actions, etc.
• Produce HLD/LLD documentation, runbooks, and ADRs.
• Provide technical governance and mentorship to delivery teams.
