Job summary

Acuren is actively recruiting for a Visual Inspector III in the Houston area. You will perform visual and non-destructive exams of pressure-retaining equipment per API and ASME standards, and document findings in client reports.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and the ability to advise on repairs or alterations to maintain safe operation. Applicants should have a civil inspection background with API 510/570 knowledge and ASME standards, plus API 653 or CWI if available.

Qualifications

• Civil inspection background required.
• Knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards.
• API 653 or CWI certification is a plus.
• 5–10 years' experience or 2+ years on-site experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and non-destructive examination of pressure-retaining equipment per API/ASME.
• Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
• Provide technical recommendations for repair, re-rate, replacement, or alteration for safe operation.
• Offer input on welding and metallurgical issues as needed.
• Guide non-destructive examination techniques and procedures applied.
• Comply with site safety initiatives and be willing to travel if needed.
