Job summary

Wayfair is seeking a Software Engineer III for its Visual AI Technology team in a hybrid Boston environment. You will own backend services, ML infrastructure, and React tooling layered over scalable microservices.

Responsibilities include autonomous problem solving, designing resilient systems, and deploying containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes, while collaborating with PM, XD, and Analytics to tie work to measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Machine learning fundamentals with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
• Strong Python with FastAPI or Flask.
• REST and GraphQL APIs with OAuth, API keys, JWT.
• Unit and integration testing, CI/CD tooling, production monitoring.
• Data preprocessing on structured and unstructured data.
• React, interactive UI work, frontend state management.
• Experience fine-tuning and serving large models.

Responsibilities

• Own technical decisions across multiple codebase components.
• Work autonomously on scoped but undefined problems inside existing systems.
• Spot code and design patterns and push improvements across components.
• Design scalable, resilient microservices exposing external APIs and internal models.
• Deploy containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with PM, XD, and Analytics on shared work.
• Use AI-powered developer tools in daily workflows.
