Job summary

Wayfair’s Visual AI Technology team is pioneering the future of home visualization. We are seeking a Software Engineer III based in Boston for a hybrid role requiring three in-office days per week, with additional collaboration up to four times yearly at the Wayfair Office in Boston.

Core hours are 9am-5pm EST, enabling focused collaboration and delivery. You will build and maintain core systems, APIs, and ML infrastructure powering our generative visuals, working across ML, platform, and

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills and ML familiarity with common libraries.
• Experience building REST/GraphQL APIs and modern auth methods.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) for compute-heavy workloads.
• Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker + Kubernetes).
• Experience in frontend + UI pieces using React/Redux is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple components of an existing code base and drive API design.
• Prioritize work with autonomy under team leadership.
• Solve ambiguous problems within the code base and improve patterns.
• Collaborate across adjacent teams (PM, XD, Analytics) on deliverables.
• Design scalable microservices and containerized deployments.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to boost development productivity.
