Wayve in Sunnyvale is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for the Measurement team in AI Evaluation. You will adapt on-vehicle architectures and foundation models for offline use, building computer vision and scene understanding models to measure driving performance offline across diverse scenarios.

You will define ground truth, create automated benchmarks, and drive accuracy and generalisation with cross-team collaboration.

Competenze

• 4+ years in ML engineering, including training and shipping deep learning models in production.
• Hands-on experience training modern computer vision models, including transformer-based and multimodal or VLM architectures for detection, segmentation,

• Develop the models - build, train, and fine-tune the scene understanding models for offline measurement.
• Drive accuracy and generalisation across vehicle platforms, geographies, and conditions; diagnose failure modes.
• Exploit the offline environment with higher compute budgets and larger model capacity.
• Measure and benchmark your models; set quality bars and use metrics and error analysis for improvements.
• Ensure benchmarked results are statistically defensible and feed validation pipelines and safety cases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor others on the measurement team.
