Storm4 seeks an SVP of Engineering & Technology to lead engineering, design and technical strategy for major data center developments in Austin. The role focuses on hyperscale, AI workloads and modular design approaches, driving standards, and coordinating with development, construction, procurement and external partners to deliver scalable, mission-critical infrastructure.

You will translate complex customer requirements into practical solutions and shape the platform's growth trajectory

Qualificações

• Minimum 20+ years in engineering/design for mission-critical infrastructure.
• Deep data center engineering and design experience.
• Leadership within a major data center developer, hyperscaler or colocation platform.
• Electrical or Mechanical engineering background.
• Strong understanding of MEP and critical infrastructure.

I’m partnering with a growing data center developer and operator looking to appoint an SVP of Engineering & Technology to lead the engineering, design and technical strategy behind a significant pipeline of next-generation data center developments.

The business is developing large-scale, high-density infrastructure designed for hyperscale cloud and AI workloads, and this individual will play a critical role in shaping how future campuses are engineered, standardized and delivered.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead engineering and design strategy across large-scale data center developments.
• Develop standardized and modular design approaches to accelerate deployment.
• Translate complex customer and compute requirements into scalable physical infrastructure solutions.
• Oversee electrical, mechanical and mission-critical infrastructure design.
• Drive technical and commercial optimization throughout the design process.
• Work closely with development, construction, procurement and supply chain teams.
• Manage external engineering, design and A&E partners.
• Serve as a senior technical interface for hyperscale, cloud and AI customers.
• Establish engineering standards that support the continued growth of the platform.

The Profile

We’re looking for an established data center engineering leader who brings:

• 20+ years of engineering/design experience, with significant time in mission-critical infrastructure.
• Deep experience in data center engineering and design.
• Leadership experience within a major data center developer, hyperscaler or colocation platform.
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background.
• Strong technical understanding of large-scale MEP and critical infrastructure.
• Experience taking developments from concept/design through construction and delivery.
• Exposure to high-density, hyperscale and/or AI infrastructure.
• Strong customer-facing capabilities and the ability to translate technical requirements into practical engineering solutions.
