Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership in facilities or property management, preferably in a mixed-use, institutional, or campus type environment.
  • 10+ years of experience managing maintenance and custodial teams, with 5+ years of experience managing people leaders and vendors/contractors.
  • 5+ years of experience working with a Unionized workforce.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification
  • Active, valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings as needed

Responsibilities

  • Lead facilities strategy and operations across the Brooklyn Navy Yard campus.
  • Direct all aspects of facilities management across a diverse portfolio of buildings and open spaces.
  • Oversee unionized teams including HVAC, maintenance, custodial, and vendors/contractors.
  • Lead and develop a team of people managers with coaching and feedback.
  • Establish asset management and lifecycle planning for buildings and infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies for HVAC, boilers, and high-voltage systems.
  • Implement data-driven facilities management with CMMS, analytics, and dashboards.
  • Manage budgeting for maintenance, custodial, engineering and inventory.

BNYDC strives to provide an environment in which innovative companies can take root and grow.The Senior Vice President of Facilities Management is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for the comprehensive oversight of all facilities operations, infrastructure, and systems across a 300-acre mixed-use campus inclusive of 60 buildings, ranging in size from 1,500 to 1 million square feet. This role has 4 direct reports and oversees a total team of 57, inclusive of specialized maintenance trades and custodial operations.
