Job summary

Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corp is seeking a Senior Vice President of Facilities Management to oversee all facilities operations for a 300‑acre campus with 60 buildings. The role directs a diverse team, ensures regulatory compliance, sustainability, and tenant satisfaction while driving long‑term capital planning.

The position requires extensive leadership experience in facilities management, strong vendor and budget management, and deep knowledge of building systems and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field required.
• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities or property management, preferably in a mixed-use, institutional, or campus type environment.
• 10+ years of experience managing maintenance and custodial teams, with 5+ years of experience managing people leaders and vendors/contractors.
• 5+ years of experience working with a Unionized workforce.

Responsibilities

• Lead facilities strategy and operations across the Brooklyn Navy Yard campus, aligning with financial and sustainability goals.
• Direct facilities management across buildings, open spaces, and waterfront infrastructure.
• Provide leadership over HVAC, plumbing, electrical, custodial, and third‑party vendors.
• Develop and coach a team of managers, delivering performance feedback.
• Establish asset management and lifecycle planning for buildings, systems, and utilities.
• Develop and implement campus-wide repair, preventive maintenance, and modernization plans.
• Collaborate with executives to prioritize capital investments and infrastructure upgrades.
• Drive data-driven facilities practices using CMMS, analytics, and dashboards.
• Prepare reports on project and building performance for leadership.
