Job summary

Believer is seeking a Staff VFX Artist to lead and craft stylized VFX for a new game world. You will shape visual direction, collaborate with top designers, and own VFX workflows from concept to implementation in Unreal.

You bring 8+ years in game VFX, deep Unreal/Niagara expertise, and a portfolio showcasing stylized effects that enhance feel and gameplay. Remote-friendly team with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional VFX experience in the video game industry with a portfolio of stylized effects
• Experience owning direction for parts of a project and aligning VFX with artistic vision
• Proficient with Unreal and Niagara; able to define best practices and pipelines
• Understanding of forward vs deferred rendering, lighting, post-process, and performance optimization at scale
• Knowledge of Houdini, Substance Designer and Maya

Responsibilities

• Use Unreal to create stunning 2D and 3D VFX aligned with artistic vision
• Collaborate with Creative Director and art leads on how VFX supports game feel and character identity
• Build and improve VFX workflows and tools for owned areas
• Tackle complex VFX and rendering problems and create reusable systems
• Review and approve VFX assets to meet quality standards and stylized look
