Job summary

University of Missouri-Columbia, College of Veterinary Medicine, seeks a Sr. Veterinary Technician and After-Hours Shift Supervisor for the SAECC service.

You will lead a team of technicians in a fast-paced emergency and specialty hospital, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient operations. The role requires AVMA-accredited veterinary technology education and Missouri RVT licensure or eligibility, with weekend/holiday shifts and an after-hours focus.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology Program.
• Licensure as a Registered Veterinary Technician in Missouri or eligibility within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Supervise veterinary technicians, assistants, and students during shifts.
• Coordinate daily staffing and workflow for efficient patient care.
• Serve as clinical and operational resource for emergency/critical care.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and staff development.
• Monitor compliance with hospital policies and medical documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement and scheduling initiatives.
