Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking a design engineer to own parts and systems for Terran R, from early concept through full release. You’ll work across teams, refine manufacturability, and contribute to fast-paced hardware development on the factory floor.

You’ll design flight components weekly using NX/TeamCenter, create release drawings, and document decisions with strong organizational practices. This role emphasizes collaboration, precision, and impact on a rocket program.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a design engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Proficiency with industry-standard CAD packages such as NX, CATIA, Creo, or SOLIDWORKS.
• Fundamental knowledge of structures strength, stability and fatigue failure mechanisms.
• Ability to work with large assemblies and navigate large vehicle BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop parts, assemblies, and systems from concept to release for Terran R structures.
• Coordinate with manufacturing engineering to integrate design for manufacturing.
• Perform packaging assessments, tolerance analyses, and fastener selections; manage gaps and shimming strategies.
• Support BOM and configuration management across systems and vehicles.
• Create and release drawings for system releases, incorporating GD&T as defined.
