Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a design engineer to bring critical flight structures from concept to hardware. You will work across the full design cycle, including analysis, manufacturing support, and testing for primary and secondary structures.

You will use NX/TeamCenter for design, run Nastran/ANSYS or hand calculations, and contribute to manufacturability as we push Terran R and future vehicles toward flight.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a full cycle design engineering role.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge of structural analysis and test (from hand calculations to advanced analysis).
• Demonstrated knowledge of structures strength, stability and fatigue failure mechanisms.
• Demonstrated knowledge of additive and traditional manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Bring critical flight structures from design concept to physical hardware.
• Design primary and secondary structures (e.g., Thrust Structure, Propellant Tanks, Interstage or Fairing).
• Lead conceptualization of structural load paths and review inputs.
• Develop and execute hardware test campaigns and evaluate results.
• Collaborate with additive, design, test and loads & dynamics teams to meet schedule.
