Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to lead APQP/PPAP for new vehicle launches. You will drive DFMEA, DFM/DFx, and establish baseline quality processes for hardware and firmware, ensuring adherence to engineering requirements and product development plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or related field; 10+ years in vehicle quality.
Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, DOE and 8D problem-solving methods.
Ability to interpret complex vehicle specifications during validation and manufacturing.
Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead APQP planning and oversee PPAP for new vehicle launches.
Ensure DFMEA, DFM/DFx meet quality standards and result in high-quality vehicles.
Collaborate with OEMs, HW engineering, Vehicle Integration, Supply chain to verify compliance with standards.
Lead root-cause investigations using 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa diagrams.
Analyze field data and defects to drive corrective actions and reliability improvements.
Establish Control Plans, PFMEAs and inspection SOPs for Safe Launch and lifecycle monitoring.
