Job summary

American Honda Motor Company, Inc. is seeking engineers to develop software and integration for Advanced Safety Controls. You will drive system control specifications for vehicle development, coordinating with Tier 1 suppliers and global R&D teams.

The role includes validating software and hardware, ensuring safety standards, and leading feature development within the ASC group. The position requires a BS in a STEM field and 3+ years of related experience, with onsite work and potential for one

Qualifications

• Must have a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering / Controls Engineering / Mechatronics / Automotive Engineering / Computer Science or similar STEM field.
• Must have at least 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical components, EMC and ultrasonic.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety is a plus.
• Prefers data acquisition experience and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage a vehicle development project for system control specifications, and coordinate schedules with global teams and suppliers.
• Review software requirements and develop functional requirements for CAN interfaces, self-diagnostic, and failsafe detection.
• Validate software and hardware through bench and vehicle testing, and countermeasure issues with suppliers.
• Analyze information, draft engineering specs, and ensure functional safety standards are met.
• Negotiate requirements with autonomous control teams and ensure correct control specifications on drawings.
• Coordinate with factory during build phases to achieve specifications and resolve software issues.
