Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior VDI specialist for a contract-to-hire role based in Reston, VA. The candidate will provide expert VDI support, act as the SME for related issues, and lead onboarding of new enclaves.

The role requires strategic input with development partners and readiness to engage Tier III and vendors. The position is fully onsite in Reston, VA, with a pay range of $70.00-$75.00 per hour and a deadline of Aug 24, 2026.

Qualifications

• Senior level expertise in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
• Lead as the Subject Matter Expert on VDI issues.
• Provide support for ticket escalations on major outages.
• Able to work in a rapid paced environment.
• Provide strategic leadership and input with development partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide Senior level expertise for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
• Lead as the SME on all VDI related issues/needs.
• Provide support for ticket escalation on major outages.
• Be able to work in a rapid paced environment at times.
• Provide strategic leadership and input with development partners to ensure customers understand emerging needs and technological advancements.
• Lead the onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments as needed.
• Interacts with Tier III support and evaluates vendor products.
• Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.
• Application of security settings and other commercial best.
• Provides coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff.
