TEKsystems in Reston, VA is seeking a Senior VDI Engineer with active DoD clearance or the ability to obtain one. You will provide senior expertise for VDI environments, lead as SME, and drive initiatives across development partners while onboarding new enclaves and environments onsite.

The role requires 8+ years in Windows/Linux server environments, VMware/VDI/Horizon experience, and IAT Level II. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity based in Reston, VA with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in Windows/Linux server environments.
• Extensive VMware and VDI experience with Horizon; Active Top Secret/SCI is required.
• IAT Level II certification or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior level expertise for VDI environments.
• Lead as SME on all VDI related issues.
• Support ticket escalation during major outages.
• Guide development partners on emerging tech needs.
• Onboard and stand up new enclaves and environments.
• Interact with Tier III support and evaluate vendor products.
• Develop and monitor policies for resource allocation.
• Create, maintain documentation and SOPs.
• Apply security settings and other best practices.
• Coach and review junior technical staff.

This position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) or the ability to be obtain an (Interim Secret, Interim Top Secret). Because an active or interim DoD clearance is required, U.S. Citizenship is required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide Senior level expertise for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
• Lead as the Subject Matter Expert on all VDI related issues/needs.
• Provide support for ticket escalation on major outages.
• Be able to work in a rapid paced environment at times.
• Provide strategic leadership and input with development partners to ensure customers understand emerging needs and technological advancements.
• Lead the onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments as needed.
• Interacts with Tier III support and evaluates vendor products.
• Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.
• Application of security settings and other commercial best
• Provides coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
