Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior Virtual Desktop Engineer to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA, with onsite work at Quantico. The role focuses on designing and maintaining a secure VDI environment, coordinating across security, network, and server teams to ensure a robust end-user compute layer.

The candidate will drive automated deployments, image management, and GPO configurations while staying current with evolving VDI technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of experience; Master’s 7+ years; PhD/JD 4+ years.
• U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ with CE).
• VMware Certified Professional (Data Center) certification.

Responsibilities

• Architect, plan, engineer, and implement desktop virtualization technology and solutions.
• Coordinate with network, server services, and security teams for consistent client infrastructure configurations.
• Automate software deployment and image creation; ensure patching, encryption, configuration management, and remote device management.
• Resolve end-user hardware or software issues in the virtual environment and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
• Research emerging VDI technologies and develop knowledge articles related to VDI environments.
