Job summary

ManpowerGroup, via Experis, is seeking a Sr VDI Engineer in Foster City, CA. You will administer and optimize VMware Horizon, automate provisioning with Terraform across AWS and on-premises VMware, and troubleshoot across the full VDI stack to keep users productive. You will monitor performance, patch lifecycles, and maintain runbooks for auditable operations.

The role emphasizes on-site execution, strong scripting skills, and medium- to large-scale support experience in enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting production VMware Horizon deployments.
• Experience with VMware virtualization platforms including vSphere, vCenter, and Aria Automation.
• Proven Terraform experience for AWS and VMware stacks.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance analysis, and root cause analysis skills.
• Proficient in PowerShell and/or Python scripting; familiar with monitoring tools.

$80.00 to $83.00 per hour

What\'s the Job?

Administer and support VMware Horizon environments, including connection servers, desktop pools, and UAG/load balancers, as well as App Volumes and DEM. Automate provisioning and configuration across AWS and VMware infrastructure using Terraform, helping standardize and scale the VDI platform. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the VDI stack—compute, storage, network, authentication, and display protocol performance—so users can work without interruption. Monitor system health, capacity, and user experience; perform root cause analysis and implement preventive fixes to reduce repeat incidents. Maintain patching and upgrade lifecycles, and document runbooks and architecture to keep operations consistent and auditable.

What\'s Needed?

5+ years of hands-on experience supporting production VMware Horizon deployments. In-depth understanding of VMware virtualization platforms, including hands-on familiarity or conceptual knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and Aria Automation. Proven experience writing and managing Terraform for both AWS and VMware stacks. Extensive troubleshooting experience, including performance analysis, log review, and root cause analysis in large-scale environments. Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python scripting, plus experience with monitoring tools such as Horizon Help Desk, Aria Operations, CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
