Job summary

Continental Electrical Construction Company is seeking a Senior VDC Modeler to support the Design Lead and Electrical Systems Designer in delivering BIM-compliant electrical layouts for commercial projects. The role emphasizes creating electrical room layouts, homerun schedules, and coordination through AutoCAD and Revit.

You will design, review, and maintain shop drawings, manage drawings through addenda, and coordinate with field teams to reflect as-built conditions.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial electrical construction and designing electrical systems with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Ability to independently design electrical room layouts and understand project schedules, electrical risers, and system layouts.
General construction knowledge, capability to read manufacturer’s shop drawings, and equipment cut sheets.
Willingness to travel 15% to local job sites.

Responsibilities

Layout of Electrical Systems: create electrical room layouts and homerun schedules.
Create shop drawings for prefabrication and field installation and manage drawings.
Model designs in AutoCAD or Revit according to job specifications and update models for coordination changes.
