Job summary

Gilbane is seeking a Senior VDC Manager to lead VDC staff across business units, manage workload, and ensure successful execution on complex projects. The role requires developing BIM standards, coordinating with BU leadership, and guiding strategic VDC initiatives while fostering a high-performing team.

You will work from office and job sites as project needs dictate, mentoring staff and driving innovation in the VDC space across Chicago and regional projects.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, BIM, Construction Tech or related field.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree in AEC or related field preferred but not required.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training and/or professional experience will be considered

Responsibilities

• Supports VDC Director in regional VDC strategic planning, training, and software implementation.
• Develops workload, budget, and strategic plan for BU(s) with leadership review.
• Implements Baseline and Enterprise VDC standards.
• Develops BIM standards and BEPs for projects.
• Creates project coordination schedules and aligns with project teams.
• Allocates VDC resources across BU(s) or projects.
• Manages VDC staff workload and deadlines.
• Monitors quality and execution of deliverables; mitigates challenges.
• Leads SME group at national level and shares expert knowledge.
• Participates in BD, sales pursuits and client interviews
• Builds internal/external relationships to support project success
• Leads VDC deliverables and career development of team members
• Fosters inclusive work environment and strong team performance
