Job summary

Echelon Risk + Cyber is seeking a Cybersecurity Leader to drive the Director, vCISO Services role. You will own and grow a portfolio of advisory engagements while coaching a team of vCISOs, partnering with GRC and Security Engineering to mature client security programs.

You will oversee staffing, escalation, and client delivery across multiple accounts, influencing board-level security strategy and incident readiness in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Qualifications

• 20+ years across information technology and cybersecurity roles, with 10+ years in security-focused work.
• 7+ years delivering in a consulting or managed services environment.
• 5+ years as a vCISO, CISO, or senior cybersecurity advisor.
• 5+ years of direct people leadership, including coaching and escalation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a distributed advisory team of vCISOs and vCISO Managers with performance management and career development.
• Serve as primary escalation point for complex client situations and oversee delivery quality across engagements.
• Carry a personal portfolio of advisory engagements at the C-suite and board level; manage multiple concurrent clients.
• Partner with GRC and Security Engineering to translate advisory into implementable roadmaps and controls.
• Standardize engagement methodologies, templates, and QA checkpoints across the practice.
• Oversee staffing, capacity planning, and hiring to scale the vCISO service line.
