U.S. Bank is seeking a Senior HashiCorp Vault Engineer to support an enterprise secrets-management platform used by internal applications to securely store, retrieve, and rotate credentials.

This is a hands‑on engineering position requiring direct experience administering and supporting HashiCorp Vault in a production environment. This role will own key aspects of the Vault platform, including configuration, maintenance, patching, upgrades, automation, application integrations, troubleshooting,

Qualifications

• Hands-on Vault in production required.
• Strong security, infra, or platform engineering background.
• Experience with secrets management and password rotation.
• Scripting/automation experience in Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Experience with APIs and integration testing.
• Ability to collaborate with developers and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of platform architecture, resiliency and HA.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized apps.
• Experience with source code repos and PR workflows.
• Strong technical communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, administer, maintain, patch, and upgrade the HashiCorp Vault platform.
• Support secure credential storage, retrieval, and rotation for internal apps.
• Troubleshoot application integrations, APIs, authentication, permissions, database connectivity, load balancing.
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation for admin tasks.
• Partner with app teams to optimize Vault consumption.
• Contribute to platform architecture, scalability, and security improvements.
• Work with Kubernetes and infra teams for deployments.
• Apply IAM and privileged-access controls.
• Support production incidents and platform availability.
• Share Vault knowledge and best practices.
• Create and maintain technical and end-user docs.
