Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Senior HashiCorp Vault Engineer to own and enhance an enterprise secrets-management platform used by internal applications. Responsibilities include configuration, maintenance, automation, and integration with Kubernetes and development teams to ensure secure, scalable credential management.

The role requires hands-on Vault administration in production and strong collaboration with IAM, security, and infrastructure groups to improve resiliency and availability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience administering HashiCorp Vault in production environments.
• Strong background in information security, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Experience with secrets management and credential security practices.
• Scripting/automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
• Experience integrating apps with security platforms via APIs.
• Collaborating with developers to align Vault usage with workload needs.
• Understanding of scalable platform architectures, load balancing, and HA.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, administer, maintain, patch, and upgrade the Vault platform.
• Support secure credential storage, retrieval, and automated rotation for internal apps.
• Troubleshoot integrations, APIs, authentication, permissions, and connectivity.
