Job summary

Smart Communications is seeking a Senior Value Engineer to build the business case that wins our most strategic deals by quantifying customer pain and the value of solving it. You will work within the Global Revenue Readiness & Enablement team, collaborating with revenue colleagues to shape the method and deliver executive-ready analyses.

Based in North America and fully remote, you will spend time in live opportunities, build models, and create reusable assets while coaching the field.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in value engineering, value consulting, or related fields.
• Track record building business cases in complex enterprise sales — ROI, TCO and payback.
• Strong financial modelling and challenging assumptions with rigor.
• Confident running value discovery with senior stakeholders and executive conversations.
• Able to make a complex case concise with a clear narrative.
• Self-directed; building a new function and evolving the method.
• Based in North America, willing to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Partner with account executives and solution consultants on strategic opportunities — run value discovery, establish the current-state baseline and the cost of inaction, and quantify the value drivers.
• Build clear, transparent financial and operational models, and validate the inputs and assumptions directly with customer stakeholders.
• Develop executive-ready decision cases — ROI, TCO, payback and risk— and support the account team in presenting them to senior stakeholders.
• Provide sellers a defensible economic case to anchor investments and pricing.
• Own our ROI platform in live deals — configure it, connect to credible assumptions, and produce measurable outputs.
• Collaborate with Revenue teams to shape the value methodology and standards.
• Hand the accepted value baseline to Services and Customer Success to ensure continuity into delivery and renewal.
• Build reusable value assets — industry value maps, use-case models, benchmark libraries, calculators and executive narratives.
• Coach account executives and solution consultants on value-based selling and embed it into sales plays.
