Job summary

PATH is a global nonprofit focused on health equity. The Senior Statistician within PATH's Center for Vaccine Innovation and Access (CVIA) will design, analyze, and oversee statistical work for Phase 1–3 vaccine trials, with a focus on oral polio vaccines.

You will collaborate with CROs and cross‑functional teams to ensure rigor and regulatory compliance. You will develop SAPs, review CSRs and ISS/ISE tables, and provide statistical consultation for epidemiological studies, while minimizing risk

Qualifications

• Master or Doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a related scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five or more years of experience supporting clinical research, with external stakeholders and funders.
• Advanced knowledge of biostatistics and clinical trial methodology.
• Experience supporting vaccine clinical trials; polio or enteric vaccines a plus.
• Strong knowledge of statistical software programming with SAS and R.
• Ability to work on US and international trials.
• Excellent communication of statistical concepts to scientists and non-scientists.
• Willingness to travel 10-15%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a study statistician for Phase 1–3 OPV/nOPV trials across all phases.
• Lead statistical design including sample size, power calculations, interim analyses, and DSMB support.
• Develop or review SAPs and analyze trial data for reports and manuscripts.
• Provide statistical support to CVIA’s broader clinical development programs.
• Contribute to study protocols, IBs, CSRs, and other documents to ensure proper data collection and representation.
• Serve as the primary contact for statistical CROs and oversee their outputs and timelines.
• Support regulatory submissions and preparation of ISS/ISE tables.
• Give clear in-house presentations of statistical material and attend scientific meetings.
• Keep abreast of new developments in the field and communicate in English.
