Job summary

PATH is seeking a Senior Statistician to lead statistical activities in the design, analysis, and reporting of polio vaccine clinical trials, including Phase 1–3 studies. You will oversee CROs, contribute to protocols and SAPs, and ensure rigorous statistical support across international trials.

You will collaborate with the Director of Statistics and Data Management, work in a hybrid PATH environment, and help advance vaccines from development to global impact.

Qualifications

• Master or Doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting clinical research.
• Advanced knowledge of biostatistics and clinical trial methodology.
• Experience supporting vaccine clinical trials is preferred; polio or enteric vaccines is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of SAS and R programming languages.
• Ability to support US as well as international trials.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication of statistical concepts to scientists and non-scientists.
• Willingness to travel 10-15%.
• Legal authorization to work in PATH locations (US/UK/Switzerland/Belgium).

Responsibilities

• Serve as study statistician for OPV/nOPV trials across all phases.
• Lead or contribute to statistical design, sample size, power calculations, randomization, and DSMB support.
• Develop or review SAPs and analyze trial data for reports.
• Provide statistical support to CVIA's broader development programs.
• Review study protocols, IBs, CSRs, and related documents for correct statistics.
• Serve as primary statistical contact with CRO partners and oversee outputs and timelines.
• Support regulatory submissions with ISS/ISE templates and tables.
• Present statistical material in internal meetings and at key conferences.
