What You Will Do

The Senior UX Process Analyst is a member of the County Operations User Experience Team, leading complex analysis efforts that directly shape how counties deliver services to Ohio families. In this role, you will evaluate business processes across all 88 counties, identify opportunities for modernization, and help guide statewide improvement efforts using Power Platform tools and other digital solutions. Your work ensures counties receive clear, practical guidance that strengthens operational efficiency and user experience.

This position involves facilitating collaboration among counties, program offices, and OIS technical teams, often serving as the senior liaison for escalated issues and cross‑agency initiatives. You will lead requirements‑gathering sessions, assess the impact of proposed system or workflow changes, and help define tasks, deliverables, and communication strategies that keep stakeholders aligned. Strong organization, timely follow‑through, and consistent communication are essential as you balance multiple projects and maintain consistency across statewide efforts.

One of the most meaningful aspects of this role is the impact you have on modernization and service delivery across Ohio. Your work improves how counties use technology, helps streamline business processes, and supports digital transformation strategies that ultimately make it easier for families to access services. You will also mentor lower‑level analysts, strengthen analytical practices, and contribute to statewide UX planning that shapes the long‑term future of county operations.

Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Analyze county business processes to identify modernization opportunities, cost‑saving strategies, and digital‑first improvements using tools like Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Lead high‑visibility, enterprise‑level requirements‑gathering efforts involving counties, program offices, and OIS technical teams.
  • Develop detailed workflow models, business process documentation, and reengineering recommendations to support statewide UX and modernization initiatives.
  • Evaluate system changes, vendor solutions, and platform enhancements to determine their suitability and impact on county operations and user experience.
  • Define project tasks, deliverables, schedules, and collaboration methods using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online to maintain transparency and stakeholder alignment.
  • Serve as the senior liaison for escalated issues and feedback from counties, ensuring consistent communication across program, technical, and leadership teams.
  • Prepare clear, executive‑level reports, presentations, and analytical summaries for leadership and county stakeholders.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, low‑code/no‑code tools, automation trends, and evolving county needs to support continuous improvement and strategic UX planning.
  • Mentor lower‑level analysts, lead collaborative working sessions, review work products, and support standardization of documentation and analytical practices.
  • Contribute to statewide digital transformation planning through human‑centered design approaches, UX best practices, and long‑term modernization strategies.

Hours

Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Location

This position will be headquartered in an ODJFS Facility in one of the following cities - Columbus, Akron, or Dayton. This determination will take into account the proximity to the applicant's home address.

Travel

Some travel within the state of Ohio. This position will participate in presentations to county offices twice per year. All travel will be scheduled in advance and with prior notice.

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio’s OCSEA Pay Schedule, Pay Range 36. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $46.00 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
