Job summary

Ally Financial is seeking a Senior Motion & Interaction Designer to build and expand our motion design practice within UX. Working with the UX Principal of Motion, you will shape how motion enhances Ally’s digital customer experiences and help scale motion across the organization.

You’ll work independently with cross-functional teams to create production-ready motion assets using After Effects, Figma, Lottie, and Rive, and to develop reusable patterns that express system behavior while upholding

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in motion design or related field.
Advanced proficiency in After Effects, Figma, and prototyping tools.
Experience with Lottie, Rive, and front-end motion frameworks.
Portfolio demonstrating motion build craft and interaction compose expertise.
Proven ability to independently lead motion initiatives from concept through implementation with minimal oversight.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive build principles.

Responsibilities

Build and expand our motion design practice within UX.
Develop principles, patterns, and frameworks to scale motion across the company.
Collaborate with UX designers to define interaction behaviors and state changes.
Create production-ready motion assets using After Effects, Lottie, and Rive.
Provide developers with motion guidance and references for faithful translation.
Develop reusable motion patterns that reinforce Ally’s brand.
