Job summary

Google in San Francisco seeks a Senior UX Engineer for the motion.code team to advance motion excellence in Search, bridging design intent and production software. You will translate AI interaction models into performant code across Web and mobile while collaborating with motion designers, UX leads, and Search engineers.

You will influence prototypes, tooling, and design systems, driving innovative features and scalable governance across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in front-end development, UX design, or prototyping.
• Experience in app development in web, iOS, Android, CompDes, or XR.
• Experience across Web and Native Mobile (iOS/SwiftUI, Android/Jetpack Compose).
• Experience with UI animation mechanics, gesture dynamics, spring physics, cubic-bezier curves, and rendering performance.

Responsibilities

• Author production-grade front-end code and reusable Google3 components across Web (TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, Web Animations API) and Native Mobile (iOS/SwiftUI, Android/Jetpack Compose).
• Build Live Experiments and interactive sandboxes validating feel, frame rates, and latency under real-world LLM streaming conditions.
• Develop and maintain mo.co.labs tooling, pipelines, and frameworks to empower partner teams and cross-functional craft.
• Systemize motion tokens, container transforms, and fluid transitions into the Search Design System for scalable governance.
• Provide technical leadership on ambiguous 0-to-1 interaction explorations across UX, SWE, and Product teams.
