Job summary

Contact Government Services (CGS) is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer II to join our Information Technology team supporting a wide-ranging federal agency initiative. You will lead full-scale UX design, conduct user research, create wireframes and UI specs, and collaborate with federal engineers and clients to deliver accessible, 508-compliant, USWDS-aligned solutions.

The role requires 10+ years of design experience, a Public Trust, and a strong portfolio.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust.
Strong UX design experience.
10+ years combined professional design experience (UCD, UI/UX design).
Strong portfolio showing research-driven decisions for responsive web/mobile.
Expertise in user research methodologies and UX frameworks.
Advanced understanding of personas, flows, and affinity mapping.
Knowledge of the website development lifecycle.
Experience evaluating systems and proposing UX improvements.
Experience designing 508/USWDS-compliant web/mobile apps.
Experience prioritizing features to meet user goals and business needs.
Experience carrying designs from wireframes to final UI.
Rapid feedback loops with customers.
Self-starter with team collaboration capability.
Successful on greenfield and redesign projects.
Experience mentoring junior designers.
Advanced coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, JS).
Proficiency in Adobe XD, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.

Responsibilities

Lead full-scale UX design efforts including research and blueprinting.
Plan, design, and implement multiple sites/apps across clients in fast-paced environments.
Lead all phases of user research to inform usable web pages and interfaces.
Collaborate with federal practice engineers and clients to implement intuitive solutions.
Create wireframes, storyboards, and site maps to communicate ideas.
Develop scalable design resources to aid collaboration.
