Job summary

Gearbox Entertainment Company in Frisco, Texas, is seeking a Senior UX Designer to help players understand and navigate complex UI across our award-winning titles.

You will collaborate with the Lead UX Designer, UI/UX Director, game designers, and the UI team to define cohesive UX standards, prototype quickly, and ensure accessible, polished interfaces that support core gameplay loops.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of professional experience with games UI/UX.
• Experience shipping a AAA title, with Unreal technology and FPS.
• Strong understanding of menus, HUDs, control mapping, and player feedback.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to stay focused and motivated on project goals.

Responsibilities

• Review design docs to ensure features align with UI vision.
• Provide UI team with design docs and reference materials.
• Define and maintain cohesive UX standards across menus and UI elements.
• Collaborate with UI and design teams to ensure a polished experience.
• Help define testing criteria for UI playtests and convert feedback into tasks.
• Provide input on confusing points within the game.
• Create quick UI prototypes and refine UI behaviors, text, and controls.
• Apply accessibility best practices daily.
