Job summary

Gearbox Entertainment Company is seeking a Senior UX Designer to ensure intuitive, accessible UI across game systems and core gameplay loops. You will work with the Lead UX Designer, UI/UX Director, and multiple teams to maintain cohesive UX standards and high-quality player experiences.

You will prototype UI features, contribute to documentation, and advocate accessibility while collaborating across projects and studios within Gearbox.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in games UI/UX.
• Experience shipping a AAA title.
• Strong understanding of UI experiences in games (menus, HUD, control mapping).
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Review design docs to ensure features fit the UI vision.
• Provide UI design documentation and reference material for implementation.
• Define cohesive UX standards across menus and UI elements (typography, layouts, accessibility).
• Collaborate with UI and design teams to ensure a polished experience.
• Define testing criteria for UI playtests and translate feedback into actions.
• Provide input on confusion points to UI leads.
• Implement quick UI prototypes in the engine and fine-tune UI behavior.
• Incorporate accessibility best practices daily.
