KellyMitchell is seeking a Sr. UX Designer for an onsite 6-month contract in Irving, TX. You will evolve design system foundations, standardize reusable patterns, and collaborate with Design Systems leadership and engineering on strategy, governance, and architecture.

The role values AI-enabled product experience, enterprise UX design, and familiarity with machine-readable design system standards. Onsite work is expected at Irving, TX.

Qualifications

• Experience with AI, automation, or agentic products.
• Experience designing complex B2B or enterprise products.
• Familiarity with machine-readable design systems standards, metadata, schemas, conformance rules, or verification approaches; MCP and AI tooling knowledge valued.

Responsibilities

• Evolve the shared foundations behind product experience and standards for our products.
• Turn recurring experience problems into reusable patterns and codify intent for designers, engineers, and AI tools.
• Own system initiatives with Design Systems leadership and engineering on strategy, governance, and architecture.
• Turn product problems into system standards and drive implementation.
• Decide what becomes a shared pattern vs. product-specific rationale.
• Use accessibility, usage, adoption and friction to decide standard changes or retirement.
• Contribute to governance and durable decision-making models.
• Independently own major design-system initiatives with cross-functional partners.

Job Summary

Our client, a leading Retail provider, is seeking a Sr. UX Designer to join their team! This position is located in Irving, TX.

Contract Details

• Contract type and duration: 6 Month Contract
• Work location: Irving, Texas
• Onsite, hybrid or remote expectations: Onsite

Core Responsibilities

• Evolve the shared foundations behind product experience, including the standards our increasingly agentic products need
• Turn recurring experience problems into reusable patterns and codify the intent behind them, helping designers, engineers, and AI-assisted development tools work from the same standards
• This systems-and-behavior role spans experience standards, machine-readable specifications, working prototypes, verification, and implementation
• Independently own significant system initiatives while partnering with Design Systems leadership and engineering on system strategy, governance, and platform architecture
• Turn product problems into system standards
• Own complex initiatives from problem definition through implementation
• Decide what becomes a shared pattern, what stays product-specific, and why
• Use accessibility requirements, product usage, adoption, and implementation friction to determine what the system should standardize, change, or retire
• Contribute to governance and contribution models that keep those decisions durable
• Independently own significant design-system initiatives while partnering with Design Systems leadership and engineering on strategy, governance, platform architecture, and implementation

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• Experience with AI, automation, or agentic products
• Experience designing complex B2B or enterprise products
• Familiarity with machine-readable design systems standards, metadata, schemas, conformance rules, or verification approaches is valuable, as is familiarity with MCP and AI-assisted developmental tooling

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $82,000.00 and $118,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
