We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer for a hybrid contract in Austin, TX.

Overview

We are looking for a designer who understands business objectives and user needs, can analyze requirements, and translate them into intuitive, accessible interfaces. The designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design decisions align with business goals and user needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead user research initiatives and journey mapping to gain deep insights into user interactions and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Demonstrate Proven UX Design Experience with a portfolio showing expertise in user research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping (low and high-fidelity), and usability testing.
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies in accordance with accessibility guidelines and branding standards.
• Engage in discovery workshops, feedback sessions, and sprint planning to ensure design decisions are aligned with business objectives.
• Utilize tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Hotjar; implement usability testing, responsive design, and SEO optimization strategies.
• Design interfaces for systems that incorporate Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, with a focus on explainable AI (XAI) and human-AI interaction principles.
• Design for complex business logic and regulatory requirements in domains like government services, healthcare, or finance.
• Present data and AI insights through clear and concise visualizations.
• Advocate for user-centered design and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure accessibility by applying WCAG and other guidelines.
• Bonus: Experience with eligibility determination systems or similar rule-based, data-intensive applications.

Minimum Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience designing UIs/UX for enterprise systems, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
• 4+ years collaborating with technical and non-technical teams to translate business needs into intuitive design solutions, with attention to accessibility and branding standards.
• 4+ years applying UX principles such as hierarchy, contrast, and alignment to create responsive and accessible web and mobile interfaces.
• 4+ years creating wireframes and prototypes that support agile development cycles, including sketch-to-visual fidelity transitions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing diagrams and visual narratives to communicate timelines, workflows, and system architecture.
• Ability to facilitate design workshops and feedback sessions with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals and user needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience allowed.
• Strong multitasking skills to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work efforts.
