Job summary

OWASA is seeking an experienced Utility Technician III to support water distribution and sewer collection operations. The role covers several crews, including sewer maintenance, valve and hydrant maintenance, water services, meter work, and preventive maintenance of the wastewater system.

The position involves after-hours on-call shifts, safety responsibilities, and operating a range of equipment. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, two years of relevant experience, and NC CDL

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate information with customers, public and other employees.
• Experience with water and sewer systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance of water, sewer, and reclaimed water lines.
• Lead team in Crew Supervisor's absence.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies on a rotating basis.
• Operate tools and heavy equipment as needed.
• Ensure safety of self and the public.
