Job summary

Gigantes Group seeks a Senior Development Manager to lead utility-scale asset development across the West Region, focusing on CAISO and Desert Southwest markets. You will manage solar, wind, and BESS projects from origination through interconnection and COD.

This role offers autonomy within a capital-rich platform, a collaborative West Region culture, and opportunities to drive permitting, land control, and project economics while coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of direct experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development.
• Regional & technical expertise in Western U.S. markets (CAISO, WECC, Desert Southwest).
• Strong knowledge of land-use law, CEQA/NEPA permitting, interconnection processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Environmental Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle development of a diverse regional portfolio of utility-scale renewables (Solar preferred, along with Wind and BESS) from initial prospecting through Notice to Proceed (NTP) and COD.
• Manage ISO/RTO queue positions (CAISO/WECC), oversee transmission/system impact studies, and negotiate Interconnection Agreements.
• Lead environmental and land-use permitting strategy across local, state, and federal jurisdictions (including CEQA/NEPA) and represent the org in public hearings.
• Oversee land acquisition strategy, option agreements, and site evaluation to secure viable real estate footprints for grid-scale deployment.
• Maintain rigorous financial models, track regional development budgets, manage PPA pricing inputs, and ensure assets meet FID criteria.
• Coordinate with internal engineering, GIS, regulatory, and finance teams, as well as external consultants and local stakeholders.
