Job summary

RWE Americas is seeking a Senior Manager, Utility Scale Development to lead the growth of utility-scale solar, wind and energy storage projects in the US and Canada. You will drive development from greenfield to COD, coordinate cross-functional teams and oversee due diligence, permitting, interconnection, and financing.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in renewable energy project development, strong leadership, and a track record delivering large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business/economics, environmental science, or relevant fields.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in renewable energy infrastructure, including wind/solar/storage.
• Exceptional project management and leadership abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently or in a team.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop a portfolio of utility-scale Solar, Wind and Energy Storage projects from greenfield to start of construction.
• Lead large cross-functional project teams and coordinate stakeholders.
• Manage full project lifecycle: site due diligence, land control, permitting, interconnection, engineering, and tax equity financing.
• Oversee cost estimation and EPC bidding to firm up CAPEX with Precon and Procurement.
• Support construction to ensure successful COD and project handover.
• Mentor junior Development Managers/Associates on project leadership.
• Identify optimal project locations in collaboration with commercial and technical teams.
• Drive competitiveness through technical, commercial, and financial levers.
• Lead due diligence of acquisitions with the M&A team and prepare management presentations.
• Manage budgets, objectives, schedules, and deliverables for development projects.
