Job summary

City of Chandler is seeking a Utility Mechanic Senior for the Water Production Remote Facilities. This full-time role follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Join a team dedicated to safe, reliable water operations and customer service across multiple facilities.

The ideal candidate will perform skilled preventive maintenance and repairs at water/wastewater sites, possess required certifications, and may lead projects as needed in a dynamic municipal utility environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in pump repair or plumbing
• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
• ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment Certification upon hire/promotion
• ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution Certification upon hire/promotion
• Pass a respirator fit test within six months of hire/promotion
• Obtain a 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification within six months of hire/promotion
• Obtain an ADEQ Grade 2 Water Treatment Certification within one year of hire/promotion
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled preventative maintenance and mechanical repair duties at water, wastewater or reverse osmosis facilities, remote potable field sites, aquifer storage and recharge sites and reclaim water turnouts.
• May serve as a lead worker and may lead projects.
• Work Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Support safe, reliable operation of public utilities and comply with city policies.
